PhD position fall 2025
The Systems Biotechnology and Integrative Biology laboratories at the Spanish National Centre for Biotechnology (CNB) in Madrid (Spain) are looking for a PhD student candidate for a PIF2025 Fellowship (previous FPI program). The student will participate in the CNB collaborative project AMBIZIONE (Advanced Microbiome Biotechnology Zips ONE HEALTH) aimed at developing a platform combining experiments and computational modelling for the rational design of synthetic microbial communities (SynComs).
To this end, s/he will combine different strategies including advanced statistical analysis, metabolic modelling, ODEs models, complex network analysis, or AI techniques, to integrate ecological, biochemical, and evolutionary information.

Rotation
We currently offer 1 funded rotations for BSc. or MSc. students within the JAE intro and JAE ICU programs. The call is expected to be open in September 2025.
